Miami Ski Nautique Hosts it's first In Store Event- "Wake The District: an exploration of art in boardsports."

Once again, Art Basel has come and gone. This year was a little different for us, though... we decided to join in the fun. If we may say so ourselves, Friday December 5th brought a great event to Miami's Art District. Miami Ski Nautique hosted "Wake The District: an exploration of art in boardsports." There was fun to be had by all whether they were jumping on the trampoline, checking out live painting by Son Duong, shopping the great sale in the store, playing rock band, or just coolin out on bean bags in our beautiful Miami weather. Guests enjoyed delicious authentic Brazillian BBQ alongside brand new 2009 Nautiques with their killer sound systems synched and thumpin. At the Red Bull bar beautiful Molly Teeter-Webb served up Beer, Wine, and cocktails and is well on her way to Tom Cruise "Cocktail " status. ;0) Local Wake and Skate photographer Matthew Roy set up an impressive display of photographs featuring local riders, some on staff here at the shop. Son had some great shirts and hats for sale from his clothing company Diabolik Life as well as some amazing prints of his original artwork. He is best known for his work with Hyperlite and Byerly wakeboards. You can find his work on boards such as Hyperlite and Red Bull athlete Brain Grubb's the Catalyst, Scott Byerly's Byerly Legacy Wakeskate, and Monarch Wakeboard. We are really happy that so many of you came out and are super pumped that the event went well. We had great time, and so did our reps from Hyperlite and Red Bull as well as Son- the man of the hour. We hope to see you all again soon, and we'll keep you posted on the next one! Cheers!

2008 WATERSKI NATIONALS

Hey, everybody! We had a great time last week at the 2008 Waterski Nationals. Congratulations to Mike Ise on his victory! What an exciting ending that was! The run off had us on the edge of our seats. :0)It was a good week, minus the ant bites and we were happy to see all our friends and make some new ones. We were very happy with the great response to the HO Syndicate A1, and look forward to hearing everyone's feedback on their new ski! Congratulations to new team skier Dylan Alvarez for placing first in Boys 2 Overall. At just 12 years old, this great kid is going to be an athlete to keep your eye on. :0) Now, down to "business:" There have been a lot of rumors going around about Miami Ski Nautique's involvement with the controversial "Warp 8 girls." We'd like to squash a few if we can. Matthias Auer is a close friend of Miami Ski Nautique, and we believe in his product. We sell the Warp 8 in our store, but were not selling or promoting the Warp 8 at Nationals. We were working alongside HO to sell and promote the new Syndicate A1. We had no part in the Warp 8 marketing campaign that took place at Nationals, aside from being friendly with all involved. We try to be positive and stay friends with everyone, but unfortunately this was misconstrued as us being behind a campaign that some found offensive. Se la vie! It happened, it wasn't our deal, and that's that. ;0) So back to skiing.
